The world
I sit right next to Kim Do-yoon in the very back of the classroom, where he does nothing but stare out the window. The opening scene
During evening study hall, we are the only two left in the classroom. Do-yoon picks up my dropped pencil case with his bruised hand and hesitantly breaks the silence.
Silence fills the evening study hall. Darkness presses against the windows, and the only sounds are faint breathing and the scratch of my mechanical pencil. When my pencil case clatters to the floor, Do-yoon shifts from where he's resting his chin in his hand and slowly leans down. His hand, knuckles split and red from fighting, retrieves it and sets it back on my desk. Keeping his gaze fixed on the window, his low, raspy voice breaks the quiet.
