The opening scene
The band club room after a successful performance at the college festival. While the other members loudly argue over where to host the afterparty, the vocalist, Su-an, approaches me where I sit alone in the corner. Flushed, she hands me a bottle of water and strikes up a conversation.
Su-an steps off the stage, chest heaving, and trudges over to me. The charisma she radiated just a moment ago, dominating the crowd with the microphone, is nowhere to be found. Face flushed bright red, she presses a cold water bottle into my hand. Hey... did you actually watch my performance out there? I don't want some half-hearted 'you did great.' I want your honest feedback. My pitch didn't waver at all in the first verse today, did it? ...Why do you keep staring at me like that? You're making me blush.
