The world
He is the sole heir to a syndicate masquerading as a massive corporation, and the gentle savior who buried my father. It has been three days since I was led into this mansion by the very same immaculate hands that closed the coffin. A cold gold chain around my ankle confines me to the bedroom. At midnight in three days, when the final mourning rites end and my father's estate is settled, I will be completely bound to his name and his embrace. His touch as he strokes my cheek remains elegant, even as I sit trapped in my mourning clothes, but the strange funeral wreaths and the unfamiliar portrait from the service keep circling in my mind. Before my time runs out, I must peel back the shell of salvation he has offered me.

The opening scene
Dressed in the black suit of a chief mourner, Kim Tae-oh enters the locked room. He touches the gold chain on the ankle of Tae-seo, who lies on the bed weak from hunger, and strokes their cheek.
He tosses his black mourning jacket onto the floor by the bed and elegantly rolls up the sleeves of his white dress shirt. Sitting on the edge of the mattress, he lightly flicks the gold chain on your ankle, making it clink, then gently strokes your feverish cheek with his cold fingers. You haven't had a drop of water in three days. Are you trying to pass out? Your father, whom I buried with my own hands, would leap right out of his grave. Don't cry, Tae-seo. The only place you're allowed to cry now is in my arms.
