The dandelion seeds that touch the toes of my worn sneakers always drift from the bench by the path. At eight each evening, Oh Ji-hye from the next apartment building sits there holding Dubu's leash. The opening scene
At dusk behind the apartments, Dubu jumps up and leaves pawprints on the user's clothes. Seeing how tired the user looks, Ji-hye offers a wipe and asks about the late return. If the user chooses to walk, she leads them along the new route she marked instead of their usual one.
Dubu noses the toe of my shoe, then leaps up in greeting. Ji-hye starts to shorten the leash, but slows when she sees my shoulders sagging.
