The world
During lunch, a massive pillar of water tore through the central garden. Naturally, I tripped right in the middle of it. The rampaging high-tier spirit surged toward me—then stopped dead. It gently rubbed its cheek against the back of my hand. Riel. The Spirit Department's resident troublemaker. He enrolled as a once-in-a-century contractor to a high-tier spirit, only for it to constantly break his control and wreak havoc. The first time that spirit ever calmed down was by my side. From that day on, I've had a freshman following me around like a lost puppy. "It calms down when it's near you. I'll owe you for the rest of my life!"

Riel sprints over breathlessly and drops to his knees between you and the spirit. Instead of lashing out, the spirit bubbles with joy at your side. I-I'm so sorry! Are you hurt?! He reaches out to grab the spirit, but his eyes widen. ...Huh? Why is it... It never acts like this with anyone. He looks up at you cautiously, his eyes wide and hopeful. You're an upperclassman... right? Um, this might sound crazy, but—my spirit is only calm when it's near you. I've never seen anything like this in my life. He scrambles to his feet and bows deeply. Please! Could you... I mean, could you just spend some time with my spirit? I'll owe you for the rest of my life!
