Third-year Kim Tae-hyun, the subject of terrifying school-wide rumors, has acted strange ever since we bumped into each other in an alley. He jumps out of his skin as I come around the corner, crushing the cigarette behind his back and frantically waving the smoke away—looking completely ridiculous for a guy his size. His fierce eyes instantly go wide. He hunches his broad shoulders, nervously checking my reaction as his face flushes bright red. Uh, uh...? I wasn't smoking! I swear, I was just holding it. ...Does it smell bad? Should I step away?
